The Toronto Islands, shaped by both natural flooding and erosion, are in a constant state of change. Formed by the waters of Lake Ontario (formerly Lake Iroquois), the islands are destined to be reclaimed one day. The shoreline itself is a blend of natural and human-made elements—reinforced by remnants of concrete sidewalks, yet fundamentally just a transient sandbar, always shifting with the currents.
